When you have a reef aquarium that grows so well that corals are growing over each other, what do you do? Get a Bigger Tank! This owner is going from a 120 cube to a 220 gallon Marineland aquarium with a custom made stand and a 75 gallon sump for the equipment.
The 120 cube will be left running until the 220 gallon is ready and then the livestock will be slowly moved into the 220 aquarium. As this job progresses the article will be updated.
This custom made aquarium stand was made by the owner. In addition to the main aquarium above a 75 gallon sumo will be housed below. This aquarium and stand became part of an interior home remodel.
Not much in the saltwater aquarium yet. The tank is partially being filled from the owners existing aquarium to culture the new aquarium with the good bacteria.
In addition to the Aqua Life T5HO lighting the aquarium will also get a lot of natural light from the windows behind it.
The room lights are on but the aquarium T5HO lights are off which allows you to see in this picture the amount of natural light this aquarium will be getting during the day which will supplement the light for the live corals.
