Aquacultured Bright Meteor Shower Cyphastrea Coral - 1 Inch

43

Our pink eye Cyphastrea is 1 inch and encrusting on a frag plug. It has bright pink eyes and blue base tissue. It has nice color for the money and grows fairly quickly.

Cyphastrea sp. are usually massive or hemisherical. They come in striking colors, with the polyps usually of contrasting colors like pink eyes on a blue background or green eyes on an orange background.  These are in the Faviidae family of corals, which are generally considered to be LPS (large polyped stony) corals, but many hobbyists classify Cyphastrea spp. as SPS (small polyped stoney) corals due to the size of the polyps.

Meteor shower corals prefer to be located near the bottom of the aquarium in low to moderate lighting. This is one of the easier stony corals to keep.

Please see this article for more information about the Faviidae family of corals.

All Arrived Great!

They shipped in excellent shape. All went well I'm just hoping they survive my tank and get to destroying the aptasia. About 4 of them went to eating an aptasia I put in while they were acclimating. Thanks, Michele
