This aquacultured coral has rich purple pink eyes and bright green base.  The coral is approx. 1.25 inches and growing on a frag chip. This coral has been in captivite for over 12 years. this frag is 2 months old. And healed and growing.

Common names for Favia corals are moon coral, green moon coral, brain coral, closed brain coral, and star coral.  Favia corals are one of the most prolific coral species in the world. 

Feeding tentacles may emerge at night which will allow you to feed them items like brine shrimp for faster growth. Polyp buds can accure which are a form of asexual reproduction in the home reef aquarium. They prefer low or oderate light. They are an easier coral to keep which makes the good for the begginner reef aquarist.
