Multi-color Ricordea Coral

This beautiful colored ricordea is 1 inch or larger when open.

Ricordea is a type of mushroom coral of moderate size. It can be identified by the fact that it has contrasting raised dots across its surface. The colors can range from orange, blue, brown, green or purple and be quite vibrant. These come from Florida waters.

Ricordea require at least moderate light levels but very high intensity metal halide lighting may cause the colors to fade. Place the Ricordea in low water motion for best expansion. Although they are slow growing corals, growth of this coral can lead to encroachment on its neighbors where it is able to effectively kill other coral that it comes into contact with.

Ricordea are photosynthetic and do not need to be fed.
