Common names for Favia corals are moon coral, green moon coral, brain coral, closed brain coral, and star coral. Favia corals are one of the most prolific coral species in the world.

Feeding tentacles emerge from the heads which will allow you to feed them items like brine shrimp for faster growth. Polyp buds can accure which are a form of asexual reproduction in the home reef aquarium. They prefer moderate light but can tolerate lower lighting conditions. They are an easier coral to keep which makes the good for the beginner reef aquarist.
