The Orangutan Crab are a very unique addition to the aquarium. The crab has been known host in Plerogyra sinuosa or "Bubble Coral" and sometimes members of the family Euphyllidae. This crab is believed to feed on plankton and smaller meaty foods that become available around their coral host. All crabs are opportunistic feeders and if the insufficient food is present they may pick at mushrooms or polyps for food. They can however been beneficial for eating bristle worms which some consider pests. Like most inverts they are very sensitive to copper based medications.
