Cerith snails specialize in general algae grazing on the tank walls and the rockwork. They may eat cyanobacteria as pictured. Cerith snails are easy to keep and do not bother other aquarium inhabitants. These Cerith snails range from North Carolina to Florida, Texas, and the West Indies. In nature, they are commonly found on algae, sea grasses, and rocks in shallow water and near the low tide line. They have a high, conical shell, and can grow up to 1.5 inch long and 0.5 inch wide depending on species and maturity.
