Aquacultured Bright Kermit Cyphastrea Coral - 1 Inch t-2-7-b

43

Our Kermit Cyphastrea coral is 1 inch and encrusting on a coral frag plug. This coral has bright green eyes and light green base tissue. The coral has a nice color for the money and grows fairly quickly.

Cyphastrea sp. are usually massive or hemisherical. They come in striking colors, with the polyps usually of contrasting colors like pink eyes on a blue background or green eyes on an orange background.  These are in the Faviidae family of corals, which are generally considered to be LPS (large polyped stony) corals, but many hobbyists classify Cyphastrea spp. as SPS (small polyped stoney) corals due to the size of the polyps.

Meteor shower corals prefer to be located near the bottom of the aquarium in low to moderate lighting. This is one of the easier stony corals to keep.

Please see this article for more information about the Faviidae family of corals.

Aiptasia Freaking Out

Thanks a lot. Everything arrived in good shape. I acclimated the Berghia for 2 hours with the drip method. A couple are eating right now. At least I think they are because the aiptasias are freaking out. The corals look great and thanks for the free...
