Doing Fine

I got them this morning at 11 and acclamated them for 2 hours before putting them into my tank. I just checked on them and saw one eating an aiptasia. They seem to be doing fine. I'll keep you posted as their progress continues. Thanks again! Ricky

Aquacultured Bright Meteor Shower Cyphastrea Coral - 2-11-f

43

Our pink eye Cyphastrea coral is .75 inches and on a coral frag plug. This coral has bright pink eyes and blue base tissue. The coral has a nice color for the money and grows fairly quickly.

Cyphastrea sp. are usually massive or hemisherical. They come in striking colors, with the polyps usually of contrasting colors like pink eyes on a blue background or green eyes on an orange background.  These are in the Faviidae family of corals, which are generally considered to be LPS (large polyped stony) corals, but many hobbyists classify Cyphastrea spp. as SPS (small polyped stoney) corals due to the size of the polyps.

Meteor shower corals prefer to be located near the bottom of the aquarium in low to moderate lighting. This is one of the easier stony corals to keep.

Please see this article for more information about the Faviidae family of corals.
