Male Blue Jaw Trigger (Xanthichthys auromarginatus)

The Blue Jaw male has the blue jaw for which the fish is named. The Blue Jaw Triggers are a semi-aggressive fish. They need a tank size of at least 125 gallons to pace back and forth, with lots of rocks and caves will give the Blue Jaw places to hide and explore. Make sure your rock work is solid as triggers tend to move them when wedging into hiding places. Triggers eat a variety of meat such as mysis, brine, and other meaty food. They will need hard shell foods such as clams to help keep their teeth filed down. They are very active and may require feeding more than once a day.
