Tiger Jawfish (Opistognathus sp.)

The Tiger Jawfish, also known as the Bali Tiger Jawfish, Goldspecs Jawfish, Black Cap Jawfish, and black Head Jawfish, has a dark head and a light white yellow colored body. It inhabits the sandy, rubble-strewn areas on the reefs, and is found in close proximity to its burrow or cave. The Tiger Jawfish can attain a length of 8 inches in the wild, and up to 4 inches in an aquarium. Their diet consists of mysis, brine, and other meaty foods.
