Live Arrival Guarantee
The Melanurus Wrasse, Halichoeres melanurus, is very popular for it's bright colors and active nature. It is an active open water swimmer. It is approximately 3 inches long and eating a variety of captive meaty foods. This wrasse requires an aquarium of 50 gallons or more with a 2 inch sand bed for hiding when it becomes frightened or startled. It is an omnivore and will eat flake or frozen food. This fish is peaceful as long as it is the only fairy in a small aquarium. It is reef safe. Keep this fish in a covered tank as it is known for jumping. If kept as the only Melanurus Wrasse in the tank it will eventually morph into a male. The coloring will change slightly and become even more brilliant. It prefers frozen meaty foods. It may eat feather dusters, wild shrimp, tubeworms, and flatworms. It may also eat parasites off of tank mates. It may be shy when first introduced to your aquarium.
This fish is guaranteed for live arrival.
