Mimic Valentini Filefish (Paraluteres prionurus)

This Filefish copies the Valentini Puffer in appearance. They will use this as a defense against predators. The only way to tell the filefish from the puffer is the dorsal spine. The puffer has two while the filefish has only one. This filefish can grow up to 4.5 inches and will require an aquarium of at least 30 gallons. They are not considered reef safe as they may pick at inverts. The Mimic Valentini Filefish diet consists of meaty foods, marine algae, and may take high quality flake and pellet foods.
